How can I determine the number of acres if I know the dimensions of a rectangular property?
Here’s how you do it. As an example, we’ll use a rectangular shaped property, which is 330’ on 2 sides and 660’ on the 2 long sides. You would multiply the length times the width, and then divide that number by 43,560 (the number of square feet in an acre), as shown below:
330 feet x 660 feet = 217,800 square feet
217,800 square feet divided by 43,560 = 5
Therefore, your 330’x 660’ property is 5 acres
