History

That’s just the beginning of Hollywood’s interest in the area. The Silver Springs International Film Festival is held there every year. It is named for Silver Springs State Park, a 350-acre nature park near the Silver River.

There are several other festivals and events during the year. Ocala offers Downtown Art Walks every First Friday, September through May. The Brick City Blues Fest comes ot Ocala in May. In October, Ocala celebrates “1Ocala 1America”, a week-long series of events celebrating racial harmony and cultural diversity.
