Recently, LandCentral.com acquired a bonanza of beautiful land in central Florida. Florida is a popular place for snowbirds seeking a fabulous climate as well as for those seeking quiet, rural living in friendly, small towns. One of the nicest small towns in Florida is Ocala, located about 90 minutes northeast of Orlando.

The beautiful, natural areas surrounding Ocala have been used to film movies since 1916, and television as well. Hollywood has shot six Tarzan movies in the area, as well as The Creature from the Black Lagoon and episodes of Sea Quest and One Life to Live. That’s just the beginning of Hollywood’s interest in the area. The Silver Springs International Film Festival is held there every year. It is named for Silver Springs State Park, a 350-acre nature park near the Silver River.
There are several other festivals and events during the year. Ocala offers Downtown Art Walks every First Friday, September through May. The Brick City Blues Fest comes ot Ocala in May. In October, Ocala celebrates “1Ocala 1America”, a week-long series of events celebrating racial harmony and cultural diversity.
