Are you looking for a nice cool river to drift down this summer, and to have all your worries float away along with it? It may be just what you need to cool down these hot summer days. Here’s a list of some ideal lazy rivers in Oregon, Colorado, Tennessee and Texas.
Oregon
Clackamas River:
Located in northwestern Oregon, the Clackamas River provides several floating routes along its 83-miles. It does have some fast current spots, so be sure to be equipped with a good life jacket and water shoes. Naturally, you’ll want to be a strong swimmer too. There is a wealth of gorgeous scenery along the way, as the Pacific Northwest has much to offer in the beauty department. You will also need to provide your own tube.
Colorado
Colorado River:
Many folks conjure up images of running wild rapids when they think of the Colorado River, but there are plenty of locations where the current is peaceful and easy. There are several companies that offer a full-service tubing experience to ensure the safety of the floaters. A popular choice is Turtle Tubing, which offers a great experience for about $35 and even provides high-quality tubes.
Tennessee
Little River:
Located in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee, the Little River is relatively slow moving and is perfect for a great tubing experience. Just as in Colorado, there are several companies that provide a full-service, hassle-free tubing experience. One of the top-rated companies is Smoky Mountain River Rat which will provide you with a tube and a shuttle to get you back to your vehicle, all for a single, low price.
Texas
Brazos River:
The Brazos River is located in the middle of the great state of Texas, and at 840 miles, it is the 11th-longest river in the United States . The river is mostly flat and slow moving, allowing for some great, relaxing tubing fun. You’ll have to provide your own tube, but one shouldn’t be too hard to find.
